About us
The Marysville Chapter was founded in August 2000 by two women.  We now have grown to 12 regular members.

In 2008 we made and delivered 1,150 quilts and afghans and made over 350 knitted stocking hats. Along with our regular deliveries to hospitals, foster care agencies, etc., we provided quilts for nine members of a local family who lost everything they had to a house fire. Unfortunately, they also lost two foster children.  It was a very sad situation, but we were able to help in our small way to bring some warmth and comfort to this family.

The Marysville Chapter is busy making and delivering Binkies.  We welcome any and all who want to help us in our work of making “Binkies” for the children and families in our area who are in need. For volunteer opportunities, please contact Wendy.

Nancy G. donates quilts to the Marysville Fire Department. Each quilt she makes for the FD is made of fabrics with some kind of fire motif: fire engines, hydrants, dalmatians, etc.

Lots of fabric was donated in response to the Everett Herald article of November 18, 2007.  Volunteers are pictured sorting the donated fabric.  Photo: Nov. 18, 2007

We’d like your help please. Like most chapters we are always in need of donations of any kind – fabric, thread, batting, money or gift certificates to buy the necessities. Any help, no matter how small a donation, is greatly appreciated. Please help us make a difference to a child.

The cost to have a booth in local fairs has become prohibitive in price so we have not participated in any recently.  We continue to look for sponsors who will help us with the cost of a booth.  If you are organizing a craft fair or other event and would be willing to donate a table to us, please contact us.

As always, we are looking forward to the Bink-A-Thon this fall.  It is a special time for all of us to join together to quilt, share ideas and have a good time.  We welcome all who want to join us or just stop by to visit and see what we’re all about.  Even if you don’t sew, there are always plenty of things you can help us with such as cutting squares, tying quilts, etc.

In Loving Memory
We lost one of our most faithful and prolific quilters.  This lovely lady was 85 years old and was quilting for us up to the last week of her life.  We will miss her smiling face  and the energy she brought to our meetings.  She was truly an inspiration for the rest of us.  We have added a Kidney Dialysis Center to our list of agencies we serve.  It is heartwarming to see the smiles on the faces of the patients each time we make a delivery.

News
The Marysville Fire District Foundation published an article in their newsletter.

In 2006 we treated ourselves to a Christmas party to celebrate the fact that we passed the 1,000 mark in the number of Binkies made in a single year.  Thank you to everyone who helped us achieve this landmark!
