MLK 2017 Was a chilly success

Hands On Portland, Hoffman Fabrics and over 100 Volunteers made 2017 MLK Bink-A-Thon a success

Our 10th year for this event in Beaverton, Oregon netted 150 blankets, despite the snow and ice of the week.  Thank you, especially to Village Baptist Church in Beaverton for hosting us, once again! It is the perfect place for this large event. Thank you to KGW and Valley Times for joining us.

Volunteers ranged in age from 4 - 75 that day. We had a combination of seasoned volunteers on machines and on the ground working on various steps of blanket making. We had some new people, several corporate teams and many teens earning community service hours with their friends. It was a relaxing, yet fast paced day.

KWG Was there live with us! I don't think they wanted to leave.
