Helping Comfort Uvalde - we need your help too.
Opening Facebook I saw one mom whose 10 year old couldn't articlate what he was feeling. She asked over and over "what's wrong?" Tears flowed and he asked for paper. He wrote down that what he saw on the news made him scared and he didn't want to be scared about going to school. I called this mom and we talked about the need parents have to learn how to walk our children through this fear into what they CAN do to help. Can he make cards for those kids? Can he make blankets with his friends to send to those kids? Not letting fear control him and moving into actions of love. That's what we do at Binky Patrol and what I'm asking for your help with today. WE HAVE A PLAN. Our chapters are pulling together IF YOU CAN SEND THEM, PLEASE LET US KNOW YOU ARE SENDING AND HOW MANY SO WE CAN KEEP TRACK. PEOPLE ARE GETTING DONATIONS FOR SHIPPING - PERHAPS YOU CAN ASK FOR THAT HELP. PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH YOUR NETWORKS AND VOLUNTEERS.
Uvalde, TX IS A SUPER SMALL, CLOSE COMMUNITY.
THEY NEED LOVE FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
THERE ARE 586 STUDENTS.
PROBABLY 40 TEACHERS AND STAFF THAT NEED BIG BINKIES.
WE FIGURE THERE ARE ANOTHER 300 SIBLINGS OF ALL OF THESE STUDENTS AND VICTIMS AT THE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS THAT NEED BIG BINKIES, NOT TO MENTION THE PARENTS!
THINK OF HOW OVERWHELMED ALL FUNERAL HOMES, CHURCHES WILL BE WITH ARRANGEMENTS.

WE HAVE TWO PLACES I'VE VETTED TO SEND THESE TO.IF YOU CAN NOT AFFORD TO SHIP THEM, DO NOT DO IT. Consider sending stacks of uplifting messages on cards, scrapbook paper cut into cards - all send in an envelope.
HERE IS WHERE WE ARE SENDING THEM. BOTH CHURCHES ARE WORKING WITH THE ENTIRE NETWORK OF CHURCHES AND THE COMMUNITY TO DISTRIBUTE THEM.
