Monroe and Trumbull, CT Chapter Area Coordinator: Jeanne Malgioglio email: ctbinky@gmail.com Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ctbinky Please join us as we give handmade hugs to children who are in need. We need volunteers to make blankets for sick, traumatized, grieving or homeless children 0-18. Blankets can be knitted, crocheted, fleece tie, and quilted. Our chapter was established in January, 2014, and since then we have distributed over 18,500 blankets! We have made deliveries to the following organizations: St. Vincent's NICU, Bridgeport Hospital, Yale Children's Hospital, Griffin Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, Bridgeport Rescue Mission, The Ronald McDonald House. and the Center for Family Justice, just for starters. We have sent bags and bags of blankets to schools in order to comfort children after a tragedy. We also give out blankets individually, as needs arise. We have 2 drop offs in Monroe for blankets and yarn/fabric donations: Edith Wheeler Memorial Library and Last Drop Coffee Shop (on Main Street). Saugatuck Sweets in Fairfield is another drop off site. Vaughn Family Dentistry and JBagels in Trumbull. CT are other drop offs. RPM Automotive Repair in Bethany is also a drop off. Please email us (ctbinky@gmail.com) for a shipping address We also have a wishlist: We would appreciated donations of fleece fabric and yarn. Gift cards to Joann, Walmart, or Michaels would be appreciated as well! We are collecting financial donations for future Bink-A-Thons. Checks can be made out to Binky Patrol. If you would like to donate by check, please email me at ctbinky@gmail.com for the address, or send it to the main address in Oregon but put a note that it's for the Monroe/Trumbull CT chapter. Thank you! Our facebook page will always have the most recent events and updates. Like and follow us! |
