KY-Vine Grove Welcome to Vine Grove Kentucky's page! Area Coordinator: Ladonna Koenig email: ladonna1k@yahoo.com
We make blankets to comfort children who are homeless, traumatized, sick or in need of comfort.
We are always looking for volunteers who would like to make blankets and donate them to our chapter. We will then stitch a Binky Patrol label on the blankets and deliver them to local children in need of comfort. Fleece, Crocheted, Knit, or Quilted! We accept all types of new handmade blankets. Blankets need to be made of machine wash and dry materials. Cotton for the quilts and arylic yarn for the crocheted and knit items, or fleece fabric. Interested in helping but you don't sew, knit or crochet? That's ok! You can help us make deliveries, prep fabric or sew labels onto the finished blankets. We will happily show you how to cut fringe and tie the fleece blankets, or teach you how to sew a label on the blankets. It's quick, easy, and fun! Contact me today to find out how you can help.
Community Service Hours - shop for fleece material, cut and tie the fringe edges, and donate. It's that easy! Birthday Party Events - make two blankets, one to keep and one to donate! School Club Projects - shop for fleece material and pick out your favorite patterns or character fabric, cut the selvege edge off the fabric (that's the ugly rough edge at the top and bottom edge of the fleece), cut the fringe around all four edges, then tie the fringe into knots which forms a border around the blanket.
Don't have time to donate but you still want to help? Gift cards to local fabric stores are great! We can then go purchase the fabric to make blankets. Gift cards in any amount are a huge help. The Binky Patrol is an all-volunteer organization and we rely on in-kind donations to help us purchase fabric and other materials to make blankets.
Please reach out with any questions. I'm happy to help!
